Below are some questions that we receive from clients and referrers. If you have any specific questions, please get in touch.
‘Telehealth’ refers to seeing a health professional via a video link or phone call. For video calls, the health care provider will send the patient a link to conduct the session in a secure, private online environment.
Convenience and comfort.
You can have your session in your home or somewhere you feel more comfortable. This makes it easier if you are busy, feeling unwell or juggling other commitments including children, their sleep schedules and feeding. It also helps if you are not feeling up to leaving the house, battling traffic and going somewhere new.
Telehealth is also useful if you need to isolate, and a physical examination is not necessary.
With Telehealth, you don’t need to leave your home or office. All you need is a stable internet connection to a device with a webcam and microphone such as a smartphone, tablet or computer
Efficient high-quality care.
Research has shown that patients receiving Telehealth care are just as comfortable with their psychiatrists as patients receiving in-person psychiatric care, with similarly positive treatment outcomes. Conducting the session from your home means that time is also saved travelling and in waiting rooms.
